How to Dump 3DS Roms with R4i Save Dongle for Gateway 3DS?

Gateway 3DS cards have come to us. Can we dump 3DS roms? Yes, we can dump 3DS roms with the tool named R4i Save Dongle, or R4 Save Dongle. R4i Save Dongle was released by R4i-sdhc team. 

However, will it work for Gateway 3DS card? Can we transfer the save file from your 3DS game cart to the Gateway 3DS flashcart? It depends on the hardware of the flashcart. If it is the same as the retail game cart, then it can work.

Pay attention that it is just a test from GBAtemp forum. Please do not have a try before it is confirmed.

Items we need:

1. Gateway 3DS Card

2. R4i Save Dongle

3. 3DS console

We can test it as below:

1.       Using the R4i save dongle to backup the save file of a 3DS game

2.       Insert your Gateway 3DS card, the red card, into the R4 save dongle. Check if it can restore the game file

3.       Transfer the rom into the Gateway 3DS

4.       There must be no .save file for rom on the SD card of your 3DS. Otherwise it will overwrite the transferred one.

5.       Run the game with the Gateway 3DS card and check if the save date is still available.

6.       Press Home or Close button to exit the game. And you can check if gateway 3DS card has created the .save file on the SD card of your 3DS.
